Know Your USA is available for schools at great price points, licenses depend on the number of pupils in your school. The School License of Know Your USA provides additional features which are great for school, library, organization or group use. Some of these features are outlined below. If you require a CD-Rom there is a $15.00 charge for the physical media and shipping & handling.
Smartboard (Interactive Whiteboard)
Our software has been designed for use with all smartboards, and works great with them. Over 80 photos from across the United States, a detailed layered map of each state, full screen state flags, and much more adds to the learning experience. Also included is a large full screen map of each state with a selection of drawing tools, allowing the student or teacher to directly interact with each map.
School Edition - Control Panel
The school license version provides the teacher access to the advance Control Panel, this enables the teacher to modify many areas of Know Your USA and allows close student progress monitoring and student management. This feature was designed especially for school use, and in consultation with teachers.
Printable class worksheets / Factfiles
Included are a series of printable worksheets which the teacher can print and copy. All the topics of Know Your USA are covered, they are great for class work or for home work assignments. We also provide solutions for the teacher to make corrections a breeze. These high quality worksheets are perfect for combining computer work with traditional classroom teaching, view our free sample worksheet. A factfile on each state can also be printed that include a detailed map of the state, the state flag and some brief information about the state.
Unique learning concept
Know Your USA utilizes three styles and levels of learning, this enables the user to learn at their own pace. The Study Section - a valuable reference tool, The Quiz Section - offers a guided approach to learning, and The Examine Section - an exam of all the topics covered.
Progress tracking
Know Your USA comes complete with a user progress database, this allows the teacher to view the progress of each student on a system, what areas they have completed and how they performed in each area. The state puzzle times are also displayed in a league table. The progress tracking allows the teacher to focus on each area that students maybe struggling in.
User Groups
Each student can be assigned to a group, this allows each teacher to set up their own group in the computer lab and is also ideal for dividing students related to their ability.
Full Screen Mode
Know Your USA operates in full screen mode which reduces the distractions of a modern computer's desktop and focuses the users attention to Know Your USA and learning. Full screen is also very important when working with a digital whiteboard or projector and our maps look fantastic at any size.
User Management
This enables the teacher to enter or upload student lists, and also groups so you can assign each student to a their own group. It is also possible to delete users and groups from here.
Weblinks
Our software features web links to many of the topics covered, you can easily disable web links to Wikipedia, but you can also use Lonely Planet and some direct links too, offering greater access to online content.
Options
We have now included a cool new spelling drawer ideal so students can learn the correct spelling in the Exam section. This and many other features can be enabled or disabled in the options. The Quickfire and Certificate threshold can also be edited.
Google Earth
There is a Google Earth link to all topics covered in Know Your USA, this is great for viewing local areas in depth using Google's fantastic software, a broadband connection and Google Earth is required.
MSI Server Setup
There is a MSI setup file available for simplified network installation, ideal for pushing the release out to all computers in your school, this is provided on request to customers.
